cheap wedding budget on wedding ring purchases Notes

When he s ‘act of shopping for engagement and wedding ring of your dreams is that you can budget Wedding Ring seem like dirty words, or at least an oxymoron. Even within a wedding budget, affordable, it is possible that some limits as you can and Cana? T afford to wear the ring on your finger, you can still get a large ring that is in your price range to understand how prices really ringing.
The price of wedding rings is highly variable, depending on the composition of the ring. White gold and platinum bands are both silver in color, but the cost difference is substantial. A budget-friendly solution is to examine the cheaper of the two similar options, such as suspension of white gold rather than platinum.
Similarly, the price of diamond depends on more than just the size of carats of diamonds. Diamonds are graded in stages caret of size, color and clarity. Less expensive diamonds can be a little less white, but if you’re on a budget, it makes little sense to pay more for a bright white, which is only noticed when it is placed next to aa perfect diamond to pay. The color of the diamond on a scale starting with A and sort the quality of the following letters in the alphabet. Most bride and groom is not easy to visually distinguish between a J color and enhanced color diamonds Diamonds less than M rated, but there will be a considerable difference in the price.
But the majority of diamonds have imperfections that can not be seen under the microscope, so it makes sense to buy financial cheaper stone with some hidden defects as the next diamond. Ask the jeweler to give you the GIA certificate on the diamond and then ask to borrow their loop to examine the details of diamonds. If you do these two things, the jeweler will take much more seriously and probably a better deal on the engagement and wedding ring of your choice.
Many factors affect the final purchase price of a wedding ring, so you ask a jeweler to help you choose the one that falls within your budget. The wedding ring be chosen not only beautiful, it will be affordable and within your budget cheap wedding.
Copyright © 2010 InexpensiveWedding.US (a division of publishing Celeste, Rosanna Haller, chief creative officer and editor).
The Jewish faith is that which is hidden deep in tradition. A traditional Jewish wedding follows a number of beautiful traditions that have been for thousands of years. Traditions are the signing of the Ketubah, the use of the chuppah as well as traditional dances that are performed at the wedding. The rings exchanged during a Jewish wedding also have traditional connotations.
The signing of the Ketubah is the traditional start to a Jewish wedding. The Ketubah is a written agreement, which claims not only that the bride is not already married, but also an overview of the expectations that the couple hold for each other in marriage. This ornate document can later framed and displayed prominently in the couple at home as a reminder of their commitment. After the bride and groom have signed the Ketubah, the groom takes one last time to his wife before lowering her veil and beginning the wedding procession. This tradition has biblical roots and recalls the story of Jacob who married the wrong woman because she was veiled and he did not realize his mistake in time.
The wedding party traditionally precedes the couple that the wedding procession. The bride and groom, then the side, symbolizing both accompanied by their parents that their union includes the union of two families, not just the bride and groom. The couple called the procession ends with a traditional chuppah canopy. This canopy symbolizes that God is present and refuge and protection of the couple.
After the couple exchanged vows, a rabbi reads seven traditional blessings. After the blessing, the groom steps on a glass of wine, glass in a symbol of human frailty and suffering that members of the Jewish faith have endured and this with the final blessing at the end of the ceremony rabbi paused. Unlike other traditional weddings, it is usually not the receiving line at the conclusion of a Jewish wedding. It is said that the couple spent a few minutes immediately after the wedding so many members of the Jewish faith honor this tradition by placing the ceremony immediately and waits for the reception to offer their good wishes for the couple. This time was traditionally a friendly opportunity for the couple’s wedding to take place, but in modern times, it is an opportunity for the couple to reflect on their marriage and begin their life together before the chaos of the wedding.
Even the rings that the couple exchanges during a Jewish wedding have traditional values. It is said that the exchange of rings that are very simple couple of other free gems, engravings or labels. With nothing to distinguish the beginning or end of the ring is a beautiful symbol of a love that lasts forever, with no clear beginning or end. This symbolizes both the couples love and God’s love for his people.
A Jewish wedding has many traditional dances. An energetic dance called the Hora is performed at many traditional Jewish weddings. In this dance the bride and groom hold a handkerchief between them while they sit in chairs and moved in tune with their guests. This dance is a celebration of the bride and groom and recognizes the importance of their relationship. If this marriage is the last son or daughter of a parent to get married a few traditional dances are held, can. If the bride was the last to get married in her family, she and her sisters may honor their mother in a tradition known as Krenzien. The mother is crowned with flowers and honor women in the form of dance. Also, if either the bride or groom young, was to marry, both parents will be honored by the dance Mizinke. In this tradition, all guests circle of relatives and shower with flowers and praise.
The Jewish faith is a faith that is full of history and tradition. Many couples and their guests decide that tradition by honoring their wedding ceremony and reception. Many of these traditions are the most important moments of the celebration and they lend an atmosphere of historical significance to the marriage.

Weddings are that special occasion where two people come together to celebrate their love for one another. Yet, was it always this way? How did marriage come to be, and what is the meaning behind some of the many strange traditions observed today?

We assume that marriage has always been a sanctimonious tradition; however marriage was not originally about “holy matrimony” or “true love.” The original intent of marriage was to insure a safe environment for the bringing up of children, as well as the acquisition and transfer of property. Indeed it is the rather superficial “marriage of convenience” which can be viewed as the original meaning of marriage. Eventually marriage became more about love, and less about property. Throughout that time, though, numerous different traditions and superstitions have surfaced. Here are just a few of these.

In Ghana, Africa, location is everything. Women in Ghana are viewed as the life force of the tribe. After all, they were where all the great warriors and chiefs came from. Because of this, Zulu culture referred to women as “the great homes.” Because of this status, it was considered customary for the husband to be, to move to his bride’s village.

The Mande people of Africa practice clitoridectomies (female circumcision). During this time, the women are taught how to be good wives. They are also taught a special “secret” language that is only spoken by married women.

A common African tradition is “jumping over the broom.” The broom has become a symbol of the sweeping out of the old, to welcome in the new. The part about jumping over is actually of North American origin. It was from the days of slavery, when slaves were not allowed to marry. By jumping over the broom, the couple was solidifying the seriousness of their marriage.

In 1076, in Europe, it was decreed that no man should give away his daughter, or other female relative, without a priestly blessing. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t until the 16th century that priests were even required to perform wedding ceremonies. Another interesting medieval tradition: women at the time would pluck their hairlines in order to attain higher foreheads, which were considered more attractive at the time.

Conservative/Orthodox Jews have a neat tradition where the bride walks 3 to 7 times around her husband to be. This is done to signify that she is a protective wall for her husband, and that by stepping inside, their family status has changed. Ah, but what of the breaking of glass? This is done to represent the many, many tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people. It acts as a reminder of those bad times.

Interestingly, the Muslim faith doesn’t really celebrate weddings. A marriage is strictly an officious occasion. The marriage occurs inside an office, rather than a mosque. The wedding is viewed as a private civil/religious contract. The only real tradition here is that the groom must give his bride a dower to serve as insurance for her future.

Japanese (Shinto) weddings are also small and private affairs, though they are far more elaborate. Both bride and groom sip three times from three separate cups of sake. It is done to guarantee luck and happiness in the marriage.

Chinese brides are given chestnuts and jujubes. This was done with the wish of the bride to conceive a son as soon as possible. Brides wear red dresses to symbolize the color of love and joy. As we shall see further down, Europeans viewed the color red in a completely different light.

Speaking of Europeans, many Eastern orthodox ceremonies featured the placement of wreaths on the heads of both bride and groom. It was done to symbolize their place as king and queen of the heavenly kingdom of Earth.

With such a wide variety of traditions out there, it is interesting to note that two of them are almost universal among human culture: the wedding veil and the wedding ring.

The Veil

Wedding veils saw their origin among the Romans. Ancient Romans believed that women were particularly susceptible to possession by demonic spirits during weddings (perhaps they had a lot of runaway brides back then). The veil was used to “confuse” these spirits. To further help the bride out, bridesmaids were dressed in clothing similar to the bride’s. They were to act as decoys for these demons.

When Christianity took over, the veil was changed to represent chastity and modesty. This really took off in Britain during the 1800s. During some Eastern ceremonies, the groom is not allowed to remove his wife’s veil until after the ceremony. Jewish faith took the exact opposite approach. In some Jewish ceremonies, the groom first validates that the bride is his intended, before placing the veil over her face.

The Ring

Wedding rings are probably the oldest wedding traditions out there. They can be traced back over four thousand years, to the Egyptians. Ancient Egyptians would make rings out of twisted pieces of plants. The ring was meant to symbolize a love with no end. Egyptians and Romans both placed the ring on the 4th finger of the female’s left hand. This was done out of the belief that there was a vein on the 4th finger that connected directly to the heart. It was called the “vena amoris,” or “love vein.” When Christianity became the dominant religion of Europe, the vena amoris was replaced with a holy seal. Priests would take the wedding ring and touch the first three fingers of the left hand (thumb, index and middle) while reciting: “the father, the son and the holy ghost.” Upon reaching the 4th finger, the ring was placed on it to seal the marriage.

For a long while the ring went from being a symbol of endless love, to that of ownership. The Romans used it like a branding. It was worn by the husband’s wife, to signify his ownership over her. Two thousand years ago, in Asia, this ownership concept was taken to a new level with “puzzle rings.” These were rings that were worn by brides as a sign of loyalty. If a bride were to take her puzzle ring off, it would fall to pieces. These pieces could then only be put back together by knowing the solution to the puzzle.

So what of the history of other common wedding traditions?

One interesting tradition is the presence of a flower on the buttonhole of the groom. The flower matches one of the flowers in the bride’s bouquet. This was a holdover from medieval times, when a knight would wear his lady’s colours in order to signify his love for her. I suppose that means that in one small way, chivalry isn’t dead.

Then we have the confetti. Prior to being paper, confetti was originally a mix of
rose petals, rice and grain. Before that, it consisted of various sweets which were thrown over the couples as they emerged from the church. It originated in Italy. In fact, confetti is Italian for: candy.

Finally, what “history of weddings” article would be complete, without a brief rundown of some popular wedding superstitions?

The day that a wedding took place, was considered to be vitally important. As such, a little rhyme was concocted to allow future couples to pick the appropriate days for their marriage.

Monday for wealth
Tuesday for health
Wednesday the best day of all
Thursday for losses
Friday for crosses
Saturday for no luck at all

Then there was the month. Depending on what month one was married in, one’s marriage could be glorious or tragic. By far the worst month of all, was May. This was due to the historic pagan belief that May was the start of summer. This was celebrated by the festival of Beltane (commonly called May Day, now). As part of the festival, couples were encouraged to have outdoor orgies to bless the crops and the Earth. Because of this, it was considered a bad month for a newly monogamous couple to marry. The best month of all, for marriage, was June. This was because June was named after the Roman goddess of love: Juno. Interestingly, June is now the second most popular month for marriages. August has recently taken over the top spot for weddings.

Next we come to the bridal dress itself. While most brides today marry in white (which symbolizes maidenhood), the tradition is only as old as the 16th century. Prior to that, brides chose whatever colour dress they would like. There was a general rule of thumb though.

Married in White, you have chosen right,
Married in Blue, your love will always be true,
Married in Pearl, you will live in a whirl,
Married in Brown, you will live in a town,
Married in Red, you will wish yourself dead,
Married in Yellow, ashamed of your fellow,
Married in Green, ashamed to be seen,
Married in Pink, your spirit will sink,
Married in Grey, you will go far away,
Married in Black, you will wish yourself back.

Green dresses were viewed as being a sign of promiscuity. This lead to the old saying that a woman “has a green gown.” This was meant to signify that she was rolling around in grassy fields. Back then, only Irish women were considered “okay” in a green bridal gown.

Last, but not least, we have the classic wedding rhyme: Something old, something new. It started back in Victorian times, but what does it mean?

Something old: This represents the friends of the couple and the hopes that they will remain friends throughout the marriage. This was traditionally represented by an old garter which would be given to the bride to be, by a happily married woman. It was done in the hope that the happiness would be passed onto the new couple.

Something new: The happy and prosperous future of the newlyweds.

Something borrowed: This is something lent by the bride’s family. It is often an item that is highly valued, and that the bride must return after the wedding in order to ensure good luck.

Something blue: This is an Israelite tradition. The bride would wear a blue ribbon in her hair to symbolize fidelity.

There is one more part to the rhyme that is often omitted:

And a silver sixpence in your shoe: The placement of money in the bride’s shoe was done to ensure wealth and prosperity in the lives of the new couple. For some reason or another, this portion of the tradition doesn’t appear as popular. Perhaps that is why so many couples run into money problems?

So, when you are consulting the “Ms. Manners” of wedding etiquette, remember, it’s mostly just folk lore. Just be sure to bring the ring.

Wedding cakes are the stars in wedding receptions. More than something that you can feast on, wedding cakes has become an essential decoration in the wedding venue. The first thing guests would buzz about is how magnificent your wedding cake is. Making a choice on what your perfect wedding cake will be should be carefully thought about. If you have an idea on where the best bakery is in your city, then head to that place immediately. You can ask suggestions from your friends or family members also.

Pencilbook your order immediately. Avoid making last minute decisions. The cake decorators’ schedule might be tight. Make it a point to visit the bakeshop to chat about the decorations, flavors and the other things you want to place on your cake. Make sure that you give the bakeshop a picture of how you’d like your cake to turn out. Give the vendor ample time to prepare, approximately six months ahead of your big day would do. Some bakeshops may require a deposit as you reserve.

The right taste. Decorations are usually secondary to taste and that’s what you must remember. They should taste good as well as they look good. A non-negotiable that you should remember is that you cake should have the right flavor and texture. As you look for a bakeshop, remember that it is okay to sample the flavors you’d like your cake to be.

The perfect budget. It might take about $300 to $1000 for a wedding cake. The price is usually dependent on what design you want for your wedding cake. You have to pay for the cake decorator’s fee on top of the cost of the cake itself. Make sure you have your budget before hand. Some shops may give you free delivery too. Most bakeshop has a standard number of servings for each cake type. The guest list you have will tell you how much you’d portion your budget for your cake.

Flowers as decorations. During weddings, flowers were always part of the celebration. Cakes may have them too. Flowers may be artificial or fresh. Fresh flowers are beautiful addition to your cakes. But it is very important that you choose fresh flowers wisely. Be sure that they are free from chemicals. For safety reasons, opt for sugar flowers.

The perfect cake storage. Virtually a lot of cakes, notably during summer, could result in getting all melted and soggy when exposed to sunlight. The flavored curls, as well as the flowers could end up dry.. Not to mention the possibility of flies gathering on your priced cake. In order to be sure, have a safe storrage as back up where you can place you cake so as not to spoil its design and taste. Never place your wedding cake near the dance floor or where there is a heavy flow of traffic. Your may witness your cake stumble down. Surely that’s not pleasing to see! Make sure you see to it that the table where you’d place your cake in is sturdy.

Buying wedding cakes can be fun and hassle-free. Remember that your wedding cakes needs to be presentable nearly all photo opts are made just next to the cake. It’s definitely the best moment to give that big smile right next to your grand cake that bears your signature.

There are many customs in society that people simply take for granted and thus barely even consider why it is done or how it originated. The western wedding ceremony, for example, is considerably replete with somewhat ridiculous ritual that few seem to really understand at all, other than that it is just “how it’s done”. Ironically many of the rituals being performed by devout Christians in a Christian church and ceremony are essentially based on Pagan beliefs.

Thankfully sometimes it is an elegant ritual and equally thankfully some of the rituals are just plain fun. It is likely that any ritual not fitting either the elegant beauty category or the fun category would have been phased out long ago and is thus no longer being practiced today. There are likely countless marriage rituals in various cultures which have long since been forgotten due to their disuse. Let’s look at some of the more popular traditional western rituals that are still being practiced today and perhaps see just why they have stayed around so long.

The throwing of rice is an interesting ritual of the kind that is very popular in animist or Pagan cultures as it is essentially a ritual of fertility. Rice is a seed and it doesn’t take a far stretch of the imagination to see just what showering handfuls of white seed on a newlywed couple is symbolic of. Perhaps if the couple isn’t planning on children then they can bypass this ritual, although it likely comes in handy for all of their creative endeavors in general so it is likely best to go for it. Besides, it’s possibly the most fun of all wedding rituals. Do consider the pigeons and plan accordingly for their safety.

The wedding bouquet itself is one ritual that has transformed over the years into something far different than it was originally intended to be performed. It had been a bouquet of intense herbs which were thought to have the effect of protecting from undesired “energies” which were considered inappropriate for the wedding ceremony. Imagine walking down the aisle with a bouquet of garlic today. Thankfully that is one ritual that has changed for the better.

The concept of tying cans to the bumper of a car apparently arises from a similar concept that was once enacted instead by the banging of pots and pans and so on to clear the proverbial air and allow the couple to proceed on their merry way.

Finally one tradition which may seem Pagan in its concept of luck is the tradition of the groom not being allowed to see the bride prior to the ceremony. This is one that probably isn’t actually originating in any animism other than the human kind. In the days when arranged marriages were popular among parents, the groom may have not actually ever seen the bride before the day of the wedding. Thus the reason for not allowing him to see the bride prior to the ceremony, lest he decide they are not the best match and so make a hasty exit to protect them from an unhappy marriage.

Hopefully that has given you a good introduction to some of the historical origins of some western wedding traditions. It may be best not to think about it too much and just have fun instead.

Your wedding dress:

Start shopping right away. You won’t feel rushed or pressured into buying something, and you’ll be able to shop smart.

Simple plain dresses are usually less expensive then the ones with lace, pearls/beads etc..

You could buy a plain dress and add lace, beads etc.. yourself. Or get someone to do it for you.

Rent or borrow a dress. If you like your mother`s, sister`s or friends dress ask them if you could borrow it. But don`t be offended if they refuse as a wedding dress is very sacred to most women.

Look around second hand shops/charity shops. You`ll be surprised at the amount they get given, and they are usually inexpensive.

The venue:

Book the ceremony/reception well in advance you may be able to negotiate a better price then you would if you left it to the last minute.

Have your wedding on off-peak months. November to April rates will probably be reduced. Christmas weddings are more expensive though so if you are planning a Christmas wedding you will have to cut your finances.

Instead of a grand ballroom or banquet hall, think less-expensive venues, like publicly owned buildings and parks, registry office, the church or temple hall, the backyard, the beach, a restaurant’s private room. You may have to get a permit to marry in a public place, but it will be less than a private banquet room.

Catering:

Look around for caterers. Get different quotes before you decide on one.

Choose cheaper entrees, like prawns instead of lobster, vegetables like broccoli instead of asparagus will cut the cost, too.

Cut down on courses. If you’re having a cocktail hour, do you really need an appetizer course? Do you need soup and salad?

Instead of waiter service, have a buffet bar.

Think ethnic! Mexican, Indian, Italian, or Chinese food is fun and much cheaper per person than the traditional wedding menu. See if your favorite restaurant caters.

If you are having a themed wedding create your menu around the theme.

Have the wedding cake only as dessert and eliminate any other sweets (eclairs, pastries, etc.).

Consider a wedding breakfast or brunch (omelettes, muffins, pancakes, French toast), or a tea (a variety of tea flavors, finger sandwiches, scones and jams, etc.) to save money.

The more tiers and decorations your cake has the more expensive it will be.

Buy your own drink it will work out a lot cheaper then paying the caterers or venues prices.

Photos:

Compare hourly fees and package deals to see which is more cost-effective for you.

Give disposable cameras as wedding favours. Then you can get copies of the days events from family and friends.

Have a professional photographer take the formal pictures and shoot the ceremony; have guests take all reception photos.

Visit your local college`s photography department and check out some of the students’ portfolios. They will do your photography a lot cheaper and just as good as a professional

Ask friends and family to video the big day for you.

Flowers:

Use flowers that are in season and/or locally grown they’re less expensive than out-of-season flowers that must be shipped to your area.

Have bouquet with just a few large flowers, like orchids, tulips, lilies, or sunflowers, tied with a ribbon.

If you are marrying at Christmas or Easter, your church may already be decked out beautifully.

Arrange to share the cost of ceremony decorations with the couple marrying directly before or after you that day.

Use silk or dried flowers instead of fresh ones in table centerpieces.

Music:

DJs are less expensive than live bands.

Ask a family member or friends child to sing at the reception.

Hire music for the evening reception only. People are usually to busy chatting to notice any way.

Ask at the local college/university for young musicians.

Invitations:

Send invitations that are light enough when completely assembled to require only a single stamp for mailing.

Make your own invitation cards. They are cheaper and more personal.

If you are having a themed wedding make cards to do with the theme.

Transportation:

Limousines are cheap enough to hire for an hour. Find out in advance how long the ceremony will take.

Only hire a limo for the bride and groom; have attendants driven in relatives’ cars, or have them drive themselves in groups.

You might be able to hire a horse and carriage for just as less. Check the Yellow pages for any in your area.

We hope these are of some use to you. Good luck

As you plan your wedding, the most important task you have is to set your wedding budget. Weddings are expensive events. The average cost of a wedding in the America is more than $20,000. The honeymoon is not calculated in the cost. Although $20,000 sounds like a lot of money for a one-day event, keep in mind that it is an average and a many weddings cost significantly more.

No wedding budget is ever too big. It is your budget not your imagination that sets the limits of what you can or can’t do on your wedding day. Formal weddings in hotel ballrooms or other trendy wedding reception venues will require a much bigger budget than a reception held at your parents house. Normally, formal weddings are more expensive because everything about them is expensive such as the food, music, etc.

The summer months are the most popular and most expensive months of the year to get married. Due to the high demand during the busy wedding season, hotels and other wedding reception venues can ask higher than usual prices. If you must have a summer wedding, expect to pay a premium.

The more guest you invite to the wedding, the more money you’ll spend. You have to calculate your food budget based on a per-head cost for food and liquor. The type of meal you serve your guest is limited by your budget. For instance, seated dinners are more expensive than a buffet style dinners.

Some locations are more expensive than others. Certain cities such as New York and Los Angeles can be expensive, but far away places can be just as pricey due to high travel costs and the lack of competition.

Don’t worry if your wedding budget doesn’t cover everything you can dream of. It may require compromises, scheduling changes, or simply begging for more money, but even with a small budget you can plan a beautiful wedding.

Developing the wedding budget is challenging, and the bride and groom should work on it together. If your parents are footing part of the expenses, you have to involve them in the process too. Traditionally, the bride’s family covers most of the expenses. Today, such tradition is not necessarily relevant. The bride and groom normally pay for most of the weddings.
